What's the easiest way to play imported PS2 games? I bought a modchip before realising how involved the solder work was to install it, so I'm wondering if there's an easier alternative? I only have 2 imported games rn, so I'm not super fussed about potentially killing my PS2 for 2 games.

The way I play import games is by ripping the ISO, patching it with ESRDiscPatcher, and then burning it onto a normal DVD-R disc. Load the burned disc into the PS2, open it with ESR, and regardless of region it'll play.

I actually had my PS2 mod chipped to be region free for ps1 and PS2 games plus dvds. Also, it plays backups for both systems. The Swap Magic 3 boot discs are probably the easiest way, but it's not compatible with all games. FreeDVDBoot is a dirt cheap option if you have some blank DVDR's lying around and the right system model/BIOS version.
