TOMs are higher up off the body and have neck angles that are tilted back more (like a Les Paul, any Jackson with a TOM bridge, or guitars with non-recessed Floyds).

The one I like is upgrading a Licensed Floyd to a solid one. This is why I beg people who want a Floyd, please don't molest any new guitars.

If it were mine, I'd probably just get a Tusq pre-slotted nut and glue it into place. A 43mm, flat bottom nut should work just fine, all you need to do is sand it down to the proper height. I believe it is part # pq-5043-00. A little white glue should do the trick, and should be easy enough to remove if you decide to go back to the floyd at.
